The Daily Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/the-beatles/6167431/Russian-cover-of-Let-it-Be-becomes-web-hit.html

The singing guy is Evgeny Ustinov, and the band is the Russian Black Sea Fleet Song & Dance Ensemble from Sevastopol. Evgeny had a stroke recently and doesn't perform any more.
You are missing the point. These are likely veterans of the Red Army. Think about that for a moment. A veteran of the Cold War, singing a song about Peace. Did he do a good job? No. Did it get the message out there? Definately! Not only is labeling this the worst cover out there, I can certainly say it is not. That is not the point of the song, though. Its the symbolism of the elderly Russian gentleman who is singing the song advocating Peace. He deserves more credit than most of you are giving.
