According to a report in the Washington Times, Microsoft's Redmond Campus is a potential terrorism target. The paper reported this weekend that US intelligence officials have determined that al Qaeda terrorists have picked economic targets in the US for a potential round of future attacks. This plan apparently involves various Seattle-area locations, including Microsoft's sprawling campus headquarters in Redmond, Washington, as well as Boeing, the US Navy's Bangor submarine base, and the Space Needle.
Microsoft's campus is comprised of almost 50 buildings with a combined 5.3 million square feet of office space; the company employs almost 50,000 people, about half of which work at Redmond. And while the Washington Times report includes no specifics on the type of attack that might be carried out against the location, it would clearly be "economic warfare," according to one source. Information about the targeting was found during recent US military operations inside Afghanistan.
Общий смысл: согласно статье из Вашингтон Таймс, контора Микрософта (50 зданий, почти 50 тыс. сотрудников),может рассматриваться, как одна из наибоолее привлекательных для террористов целей района Сиэтла, наряду с заводами Боинга, ВМБ и пр.
Я вот все думаю, не направить ли какую-нибудь Аль-Каеду по этому верному пути? ;)
