Там видно, что пуля почти по касательной идёт. И реально она вроде как шлем пробила, просто прошла между шлемом и подвесной системой:
As some commenters point out, the guy was extremely lucky. The bullet passes "through the gap between the kevlar and the suspension," which means it was coming at a very shallow angle. Had it be a more perpendicular shot, the bullet may have gone through the helmet and blown his brains off.
