Это про Хэнфорд описание, там у них был запас времени, поэтому людей не выкидывали "прямо сразу", а под Оак-Ридж, где сразу надо было стартовать, процесс вообще был весёлым:

Some returned home from work one day to find an eviction notice nailed to their door or to a tree in the yard. Most were given six weeks to leave, but some were given just two.

Большинство выселяемых семей получили шесть недель на то, что бы покинуть свою землю, но некоторым не повезло и им дали только две недели. Но Гровс об этом ничего не написал в своей книжке :)
