Операция БОЛЬШАЯ СТИРКА ?????

Добрый день,

Кто бы сомневался, что в UK было совсем непросто в отношении связей с братским нордическим народом....

MI5 thought Churchill nephews were spies
(Filed: 23/06/2002)

Newly declassified documents have exposed a
series of embarrassing and costly British security
errors. Chris Hastings and Charlotte Edwardes
report

Two members of Sir Winston Churchill's family were
wrongly identified as Soviet spies by MI5 after the
service received information that should have pointed
them in the direction of Kim Philby and Donald
Maclean, newly declassified documents have revealed.

A series of blunders by British security chiefs led them
instead to suspect that the traitors in the Establishment
were Esmond and Giles Romilly, nephews of Sir
Winston who had no links with the Soviet regime.

In 1937, Britain was first warned of the activities of a
Cambridge-educated spy ring by General Walter
Krivitsky, who had defected to America. If acted on
properly, his information might have unmasked Philby
and Maclean, who at the time had been working for
Stalin's OGPU - a forerunner of the KGB - for three
years.
