The official indicated, ... that the Pentagon believes the source of the problem was the particular pilot of the Chinese F-8 fighter jet that collided with the US plane.
The pilot, Wang Wei, who was lost after his aircraft crashed at sea, was involved in nearly all of a number of previous interceptions of US reconnaissance aircraft by Chinese fighters that were dangerously aggressive, the official told AFP.
"We saw it consistently, but we saw it pretty much from the same pilot," the official said.
