Сухой 24
Израиль на парижском салоне будет показывать самолёт "Сухой-24"

Israel spreads its wings for the Paris air show
By Amnon Barzilai
Ha'aretz Defense Correspondent
Israel will display the Green Pine radar system of the Arrow missiles
and an upgraded Russian made attack aircraft, the Sukhoi 24, at the
Paris air show at Le Bourget in June. The Defense Ministry's decision
reflects what was described as "an effort to boost Israeli defense
exports."
Eighteen Israeli firms will participate at the Paris air show. The
Israeli presence at the international display is the fifth largest
among the 39 countries participating.
The Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) pavilion will feature a model of
the Arrow missile, while the large radar, which is more than 10
meters high and 20 meters long, will be exhibited in front of the
pavilion.
To date, IAI has sold the radar to the IDF and to India and is
negotiating its sale to other countries.
The Sukhoi 24 was upgraded by Elbit Systems, as part of a deal
involving the refitting of a squadron of this attack aircraft for the
Georgian air force. Some 800 Sukhoi-24s are in service with the
Russian air force, and others are used by a number of Arab air forces.
The first aircraft of its type to be refurbished with Western
avionics, the Sukhoi 24 will participate in an air display, flown by
Elbit's test pilot.
Two years ago, Elbit included a MiG 21 of the Romanian air force at
the air show, which was upgraded by the company with Western avionics.
Another upgrade job, this one on the U.S.-built F-16, will be
displayed by an Israeli consortium led by IAI.
