Probably...though, believe it or not, the Germans had many commercial
arrangements with private US industry -- such as Ford, for example. I have
heard that US Strategic bombing plans took into account US commercial
interests and thus certain towns or factories were 'overlooked'.

Бы что, об eнтом только узнaли? Нaм eто говорил воeнрук в школe eшё в СССР дa и нa урокaх истории об eтом говорили.
Aмeрикaнскиe чaстныe компaнии влaдeли зaводaми Фоккe Wульф и Дороньe (нaзвaния знaкомы?)
И снaбжaли гeрмaнию нeфтью и aвиaционным бeнзином.

Taковa "свободa торговли". У фaшистов то Гeрмaния былa прeвышe всeго. A у Aмeров - Дeньги прeвышe всeго.

Mnogie nemcy, kogo ja rassprashival, govorjat v odin golos:
bombili VYBOROCHNO! I Gamburg, i mnogie drugie goroda, gde byla vlozhena chast' kapitala amov ili britov. Soglasovyvalos' eto, vidno, na urovne genshtabov...

Может и легенды, но некоторые ими живут...
Мне вчера один француз тоже рассказывал о том, что "ИГ Фарбен Индустри", кажется не ошибся в названии ?, почти не бомбили и о том, что "по странному стечению обстоятельств" многие ж/д, ведшие в лагеря смерти, например, из Нюрнберга в Освенцим, пощадили... Такие вот легенды. Интересно, а где правда ?
