Чавес грозится купить истребители в России или КНР

Президент Венесуэлы заявляет, что его страна может закупить боевые
самолеты в России или Китае

Каракас. 11 января. ИНТЕРФАКС - Венесуэльские военно-воздушные силы
могут заменить свои боевые самолеты F-16 американского производства на
российские или китайские, заявил в Каракасе президент Венесуэлы Уго
Чавес.
Он отметил, что это вызвано отказом Вашингтона соблюдать
контрактные обязательства по техническому обслуживанию самолетов,
закупленных в 1980-е годы.
"Я уже посылал комиссию в Москву. Если нам необходимо заменить F-16
на современный флот "МиГов", мы сделаем это. В Китае тоже производят
самолеты, и ничто не сможет препятствовать нашему стремлению обладать
современными вооруженными силами", - подчеркнул глава венесуэльского
государства, выступая перед военнослужащими в Каракасе.
Президент напомнил, что Вашингтон задерживает поставки запасных
частей к венесуэльским боевым машинам.
Венесуэла закупила 24 самолета F-16.
У.Чавес обвинил власти США в попытке не допустить закупок
вооружений Венесуэлой за рубежом, чтобы "сохранить зависимость" этой
страны. В частности, недавно Вашингтон воспрепятствовал сделке с
Бразилией на поставку учебных самолетов "Тукан", напомнил президент
Венесуэлы.

US bars Spain from selling planes to Venezuela

MADRID, Jan 13 2006

Spain and the United States said Friday that Washington had blocked a sale by Madrid of 12 military planes to Venezuela, making good on warnings not to deal with the left-wing government of President Hugo Chavez.

The US ambassador to Spain, Eduardo Aguirre, told Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos on Thursday of the US decision to refuse a license to Spain for the deal.

"The ambassador informed the minister of the American decision to apply the law, which is intended to block this commercial contract involving planes equipped with American parts," a ministry spokesman said.

The spokesman denied Washington was acting politically in halting the two-billion-dollar deal for the transport and surveillance planes, but a statement from the US embassy here indicated otherwise.

"Despite being democratically elected, the government of President Hugo Chavez has systematically undermined democratic institutions, pressured and harassed independent media and the political opposition, and grown progressively more autocratic and anti-democratic," it charged.

"In a region in need of political stability, the Venezuelan Government's actions and frequent statements contribute to regional instability," embassy added.

"This proposed sale of air platforms has the potential to complicate the situation."

The United States had voiced objections to the deal when it was signed in late November, saying it was concerned about US technology being sold to the oil-rich South American state.

Chavez has aroused the ire of Washington with his public anti-US remarks, fiery populism and close friendship with Cuban leader Fidel Castro.

Caracas says the equipment is needed to combat drug smuggling. But the US administration, which has called Chavez a "negative force" in Latin America, fears materiel sold to his government could be used to arm Colombian rebels.

Spanish Defense Minister Jose Bono had previously defended its deal with Venezuela, saying that the materiel was for solely peaceful purposes and that Madrid had fulfilled European Union and NATO regulations.

The deal signed with EADS-CASA, the Spanish subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), includes 10 C-295 transport planes and two CN-235 marine surveillance and transport planes, and eight military patrol boats.

EADS-CASA declined to comment Friday on the Venezuela deal but acknowledged that the only way to keep it alive would be to replace the US technology in the planes with European parts.
The operation would delay the delivery of Venezuela's purchase and add considerable cost.

Chavez has repeatedly lashed out at the United States, accusing it of trying to oust him from office or even assassinate him.

He alleged Tuesday that the United States was blocking the sale of airplanes to Venezuela by the Brazilian company Embraer because they contain US technology.

The US embassy asserted Thursday that the decision to bar the Spanish planes "would not prejudice consideration of potential future requests by EADS/Casa," nor did Washington expect it to "adversely affect the excellent relations we have with the Government of Spain."

However, those relations have experienced several hiccups since the socialist government of Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero came to power in April 2004 and promptly withdrew Spanish troops from Iraq.

Zapatero said at the end of November that he saw no problem with the United States over the sale of the planes, which had no offensive role.

"Spain takes its decisions in relation to what Spain wants ... whether it is a matter of waging war or its relations with other countries," he added.

Чавес говорил про КНР (см. сообщение 1)
а российское МО "опровергло" инфу в российских СМИ про планы продажи истребителей Венесуэле (см. сообщение 2)

так что имхо Интерфакс отсебя добавил желаемое :)

Russian Defence Ministry denies plans to sell MiG fighters to Venezuela

Excerpt from report by Russian news agency Interfax-AVN website

Moscow, 11 January: The Defence Ministry has not made any official statements to the effect that Russia is willing to supply MiG-29
fighters to Venezuela, Col Vyacheslav Sedov, Russian Defence Ministry press service chief, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday
[11 January].

"The Defence Ministry does not deal with signing contracts to supply weapons and military hardware abroad. These functions are vested in a state intermediary, the Rosoboroneksport federal state unitary
enterprise," Sedov said, commenting on media reports that the Russian Defence Ministry was willing to supply Venezuela with MiG-29 fighters.

"The issue of supplying Russian combat aircraft to Venezuela is currently not on the agenda," Sedov said.

Реально - разве что FC-1, да и то в случае его доводки

А J-10 сильно вряд ли готов к экспорту в ближайшие годы, уважаемый А.Сухоруков.

Приветствую, джентльмены!

По контракту от 18 декабря 2002 г Венесуэла заказала Embraer восемь двухместных самолетов АМХ-АТА для использования главным образом в качестве учебно-боевых, и четыре двухместных самолета РЭБ АМХ-Е. Они должны были быть поставлены в течение 2005 г, но что-то информация о поставках в течение года не проходила. Причем вроде бы проблемы там были не в интригах америкосов, а в разногласия венесуэльцев с бразильцами по поводу оплаты сей негоции в 300 млн. долл. Эта тема всплывала в начале 2005 г. - как я понимаю, Чавес и Лулу договорились типа возобновить контракт.

Что касается закупки 24 Super Tucano, то там вроде бы вообще контракта заключено так и не было.

Здравсттвуйте, уважаемый А.Никольский!

Ну, собственно, сей венесуэльский контракт означает фактическое возобновление производства АМХ, поскольку последний (56-й) серийный самолет для ВВС Бразилии был сдан Embraer в начале 2001 г (итальянцы закончили производство еще в 1997 г). Но Embraer формально линию не закрывала, поскольку номинально у нее остается сделанный еще лет 15 назад опцион ВВС Бразилии на поставку еще 23 самолетов, но он наверняка реализован не будет.

нет, УТС "Тукано"

AMX давно не производится да и вообще плохой самолет. На "Тукано" стоит в основном американская авионика, вот США и заблокировали его продажу Чавесу, а ранее они же запретили Израилю модернизировать венесуэльские F-16

Это очень непросто - согласование двигателя с воздуxозаборником. Чуть что не так - то помпаж то "зуд".

Другими словами - воздуxозаборник на самолете делается под конкретный двигатель. Когда англичане например покупали "Фантомы" и ставили на ниx свои двигатели "роллс-ройс", они очень сильно помучались теxнически, и неслабо потеряли в летныx xарактеристикаx самолета даже вложив кучу денег в этот апгрейд (самолет получился дороже исxодной американской цены, но зато запчасти свои а не покупные, правда).
